Role Description The Finance & Account Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Shah Alam. This position is responsible for handling the full set of accounts, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR), while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The role includes preparing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate financial statements, general ledgers, and supporting schedules; managing invoicing, payments, collections, and bank reconciliations; and preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
The Finance & Account Executive is also responsible for performing monthly closing activities and ensuring management accounts are completed accurately and within the required timeline. The role will assist with budgeting and forecasting, prepare periodic financial and management reports, support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and local regulations.
Day-to-day responsibilities also include maintaining accurate financial data in the accounting system, analyzing financial performance and variances, providing management with relevant financial insights, and collaborating with operations, project, and engineering teams to ensure proper project cost allocation and financial control.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Reporting, with the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and supporting documentation.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software and related financial systems, with attention to data accuracy and integrity.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills for variance analysis, cost tracking, and performance review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are an advantage.
- Knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, tax requirements, and applicable accounting standards (e.g., MFRS).
- Strong numerical aptitude, organization skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Previous experience in engineering, energy, or industrial sectors is beneficial.
