Job Description
We are a wood manufacturing firm looking for a Cost Accountant to manage timber product costing, inventory and production cost analysis.
Responsibilities
Set up and maintain standard costs for logs, lumber and finished wood products; compute material, labour and factory overhead cost.
Analyse monthly variances on timber usage, production yield and factory overhead; investigate excessive wood wastage.
Manage timber inventory accounting, organise stock count and reconcile inventory differences.
Assist month-end closing, prepare product profitability and cost reports for wood manufacturing.
Collaborate with production and procurement teams to update timber BOM and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
Ensure financial records comply with SFRS and internal controls.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting or Finance.
At least 2 years cost accounting experience, timber/wood manufacturing background preferred.
Solid knowledge of BOM costing, inventory control and variance analysis.
Proficient in Excel; ERP experience is a plus.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines.
Good English communication skills.
