Job Summary

An Assistant Cook supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory, and assisting the Cook to ensure efficient food preparation and service.

Responsibilities

Assist the Cook by cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling food ingredients to prepare meals efficiently

Clean and sanitize food preparation areas following company hygiene codes and health and safety standards

Wash, disinfect, and store cooking utensils and kitchen equipment properly to maintain cleanliness and safety

Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and food supplies to ensure kitchen readiness

Operate kitchen appliances and instruments such as cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens safely and effectively

Manage inventory by unloading supplies and organizing the storeroom to maintain stock accuracy

Participate in programs or projects aimed at improving service quality and employee productivity

Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment consistently throughout shifts

Develop new menu items and improve existing recipes to enhance the kitchen’s offerings

Monitor and manage kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget limits

Perform assigned shift work to support continuous kitchen operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Ability to cook North Indian food
