About NextGTM

NextGTM Consulting is a specialized Go-to-Market-as-a-Service (GTMaaS) consultancy that enables international B2B SaaS and technology companies to successfully expand into new geographical markets. We go beyond designing GTM strategies, we execute them, building and scaling the local teams needed to identify, engage, and close customers.

About the Role

Based in Kuala Lumpur, this Business Development Representative role supports one of our key clients: a leading vendor recognized leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing. As part of the NextGTM team, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective customers, researching accounts, generating interest, and creating qualified pipeline for the client's sales team.

The role also includes field marketing and event execution across APJ. Working under the direction of the Head of Sales and Channels APJ, you'll help plan and run small-scale events such as client briefings, roundtables, lunch-and-learns, enablement sessions, and partner and trade events.

It's a foundational role with a clear path into a sales, marketing, or other commercial position as you build experience.

What You'll Do — Sales Development

  • Generate and qualify new business opportunities through warm outbound prospecting — email, phone, social, and video
  • Respond to and qualify inbound leads generated by marketing campaigns and events
  • Research target accounts and personas to craft relevant, personalized outreach
  • Articulate the client's value proposition to security and engineering stakeholders (including CISOs) and spark early-stage interest
  • Book qualified meetings and discovery calls for the client's sales team, and support a smooth handover
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified opportunities and pipeline generated
  • Maintain accurate activity, lead, and pipeline data in the client's CRM and internal Veracode systems
  • Partner closely with the client's sales, business development, and marketing teams on territory strategy, campaigns, and account-based plays
  • Continuously learn about application security, DevSecOps, the competitive landscape, and the client's platform

What You'll Do — Marketing & Event Execution

  • Provide field marketing support and own the end-to-end execution of small-scale events across APJ, under the direction of the Head of Sales and Channels APJ
  • Plan and run client briefings and executive roundtables that build relationships and surface opportunities
  • Coordinate lunch-and-learns and enablement sessions supporting sales and technical training
  • Organize partner technology briefings and joint activities across the distributor, VAR, and system-integrator ecosystem
  • Support the client's presence at trade shows and industry events across the region
  • Manage event logistics end-to-end, venues, invitations, registrations, vendors, budgets, and on-the-day coordination
  • Partner with marketing on demand-generation activities, including webinars, content, and campaigns
  • Manage pre-and post-event follow-up to convert attendance into qualified pipeline, and track event ROI

Who You Are

  • 3–5 years of experience in a BDR/SDR, inside sales, lead generation, or other customer-facing role (strong graduates with relevant internships will be considered)
  • A genuine interest in technology — ideally cybersecurity, application security, or DevSecOps, and a desire to build a career in software/SaaS sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to reach out to senior stakeholders
  • Curiosity and coachability, you seek feedback and act on it
  • Self-disciplined and persistent, with comfort managing high-volume outreach
  • Well-organized, with strong project-management instincts and the ability to juggle multiple accounts and events at once
  • Comfortable working in a 100% remote, highly distributed environment across multiple time zones
  • Experience prospecting into APJ markets and navigating regional and cultural nuances is a plus
  • Fluent English is required
  • Willingness to travel within APJ to support events as needed

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with sales tools such as Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or ZoomInfo
  • Prior experience in field marketing, event coordination, or event execution
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, DevSecOps, or developer tooling
  • Prior experience in a quota-carrying or target-driven environment
  • Understanding of consultative or account-based selling approaches

Why Work With Us

  • Work with a growing GTM consultancy supporting established cybersecurity vendors across APJ
  • Build expertise in application security and DevSecOps, a growing area of enterprise technology
  • A clear path to progress into a sales, marketing, or other commercial role
  • A collaborative, relationship-driven working culture
  • Competitive package and remote-first working arrangements
