Job Title: Urban Planner
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary We are seeking an analytical, visionary, and highly structured Urban Planner to lead our land use evaluations, master zoning strategies, and spatial infrastructure development pipelines. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating site conditions, analyzing demographic and environmental data streams, and structuring comprehensive urban master plans. Partnering closely with Project Managers, architects, civil engineers, and local statutory authorities, you will turn complex spatial data and architectural briefs into sustainable, safe, and regulatory-compliant urban blueprints.
Key Responsibilities
- Master Planning & Design: Formulate, evaluate, and update detailed land use strategies, spatial zoning blueprints, and site master plans to optimize urban environments.
- Data-Driven Spatial Analysis: Conduct rigorous research utilizing geographic information systems, mapping assets, and demographic trends to identify potential land constraints or infrastructure optimization pathways.
- Regulatory Compliance Control: Ensure all physical master planning proposals and site designs comply strictly with local code frameworks, environmental laws, and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) or BCA directives.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a primary technical bridge to gather inputs and negotiate spatial design approvals across multi-disciplinary project teams, client boards, and government infrastructure agencies.
- Feasibility Studies: Author, format, and present detailed socio-economic impact studies, environmental sustainability assessments, and technical layout sections for management review.
- Project Portfolio Support: Manage end-to-end urban design lifecycles, tracking baseline milestones and adjusting design frameworks to prevent execution delays.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Geography, or a related spatial and environmental science discipline.
- Experience: Demonstrated professional track record in urban master planning, land use control engineering, spatial infrastructure coordination, or site layout design consultancy.
- Technical Knowledge: High proficiency with modern architectural visualization utilities and geographic information engines (such as GIS applications, AutoCAD, or related calculation software).
- Accreditations: Professional membership or active progression toward a recognized local planning body (such as the Singapore Institute of Planners - SIP) is highly preferred.
- Competencies: Exceptional systems thinking capabilities, strict numerical and geometric layout accuracy, and an objective, details-oriented problem-solving mindset.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills to co-author clear strategic briefs and defend complex spatial proposals to executive boards.
