Technic (China-HK) Limited
The Finance/Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance, timely monthly closings, and strict compliance with HKFRS/IFRS and local tax laws. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role serves as the vital link between the chemical manufacturing plants, the sales offices, and the core finance function—translating operational plant data into clear financial indicators and managing transactional workflows across the Hong Kong headquarters and the three China subsidiaries.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Ledger Management
Closing & Execution: Direct the daily operations of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Ensure the team meets strict monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing deadlines.
Regional Consolidation: Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day accounting activities of the three China subsidiaries (encompassing manufacturing plants and sales offices) to maintain unified reporting standards.
Management Reporting: Support the Assistant Financial Controller by preparing preliminary full-set financial statements, P&Ls, and rolling forecasts ahead of senior management meetings.
2. Plant Costing & Operational Control
Efficiency Tracking: Monitor plant production efficiency, manufacturing overheads, and energy costs across the Hong Kong and China sites.
Operational Translation: Translate raw operational data (such as production line utilization and yield variances) into financial performance indicators.
Inventory Oversight: Maintain tight control over cost accounting records, tracking raw chemical material price volatility and potential inventory obsolescence due to shelf-life constraints.
3. Compliance, Taxation & External Audit
Standards Compliance: Ensure all local financial processes and entries fully comply with local tax laws and HKFRS/IFRS frameworks.
Audit Readiness: Drive the practical preparation for annual statutory external audits and internal compliance checks, acting as the primary operational contact.
Tax & Transfer Pricing: Complete local tax filings (Profits Tax, VAT, and employer returns) and maintain necessary documentation for intercompany Transfer Pricing compliance.
4. Capital Expenditure (Capex) & Funds Support
Capex Evaluation: Conduct routine benefit assessments, ROI calculations, and payback period tracking for capital investments (e.g., chemical reactors, plant expansion, and automated equipment).
Treasury & Working Capital: Assist the department leadership in managing regional working capital and monitoring cash flow requirements.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., HKICPA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing MNC subsidiary.
Strong practical command of HKFRS/IFRS and familiarity with localized PRC tax environments.
Deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory valuation, and basic financial modeling.
Proficient in mid-to-large ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and advanced MS Excel.
Key Attributes: A highly organized supervisor capable of driving staff productivity, resolving operational bookkeeping bottlenecks, and communicating effectively across different department lines.
