Senior SLT Test Engineer

Location: Penang, Malaysia

ThunderSoft is hiring a Senior SLT Test Engineer to support a leading semiconductor project in Penang.

We are looking for a technically strong engineer with experience in System-Level Test, silicon bring-up, platform validation and complex hardware/software debug. The role also offers an opportunity to leverage automation, data analytics and AI-assisted workflows to improve test efficiency and accelerate root-cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and optimize System-Level Test (SLT) programs for next-generation products.

• Drive silicon bring-up, characterization, failure analysis and yield improvement from NPI through production.

• Debug complex system-level issues across hardware, firmware, BIOS, software and silicon.

• Develop automation, test frameworks and intelligent workflows to improve test coverage, debug efficiency and manufacturing readiness.

• Apply data analytics and AI-assisted methodologies to analyze failures and accelerate root-cause identification.

• Collaborate with Firmware, BIOS, Diagnostics, Silicon Design and Product Engineering teams to resolve cross-functional issues.

• Improve test strategies, diagnostics and manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and production success.

• Provide technical guidance and mentor engineers on SLT, automation, data analysis and debug methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in System-Level Test (SLT), product validation, manufacturing test, silicon bring-up or platform validation.

• Strong experience with Python, Java, Shell or similar programming/scripting languages.

• Strong Linux/Unix experience and system-level debugging skills.

• Experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, failure analysis and root-cause analysis.

• Experience developing or optimizing test flows, test frameworks, debug infrastructure or test content.

• Experience debugging server platforms, PC hardware or complex system architectures.

• Good understanding of BIOS, firmware, diagnostics and hardware/software interaction.

• Experience working cross-functionally with Firmware, BIOS, Diagnostics, Silicon Design and Product Engineering teams.

• Experience with automation frameworks, data analytics or machine learning is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents or AI-assisted engineering workflows is highly desirable.

• Strong communication, problem-solving and technical leadership skills.

Education & Experience

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

• Relevant experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, System Validation or semiconductor engineering.

• Senior-level candidates with strong SLT, system validation or silicon debug experience are preferred.
