We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer (Topside Packages) to oversee vendor quality surveillance and source inspection activities for topside equipment and packages. The successful candidate will ensure all equipment meets project specifications, classification requirements, and international quality standards before shipment to the integration yard or offshore site.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
- Review vendor QA/QC documentation including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), FAT procedures, welding procedures, and coating specifications.
- Develop source inspection plans based on project quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspection schedules with vendors and third-party inspectors.
- Participate in quality criticality assessments for major equipment packages.
Source Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Conduct source inspections at vendor facilities during fabrication, assembly, and testing stages.
- Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for equipment such as pumps, valves, and marine systems.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, Class requirements, and applicable industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, ABS, DNV).
- Prepare inspection reports and manage punch list items.
- Issue Inspection Release Notes (IRN) before equipment shipment.
- Monitor and ensure closure of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and outstanding quality issues before delivery.
- Escalate critical quality concerns to project QA/QC management when necessary.
Continuous Improvement
- Capture lessons learned from inspections and vendor performance.
- Recommend improvements to vendor qualification, inspection, and quality processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in offshore oil & gas, modules, or topside fabrication projects.
- Experience in source inspection and vendor surveillance activities.
- Involvement in at least 2 floater/vessel conversion projects.
- Experience in at least 1 FPSO project.
- Strong understanding of fabrication quality control, inspection, testing, and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, ISO, ABS, and DNV.
- Knowledge of FAT procedures and NDT techniques.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
- CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
