Job Summary

An Assistant Cook supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory, and assisting the Cook to ensure efficient food preparation and service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in preparing food by cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients to meet kitchen standards
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas following company hygiene codes and health and safety standards
• Wash, disinfect, and store cooking utensils and kitchen equipment properly to maintain cleanliness and safety
• Receive, weigh, and store ingredients and food supplies to ensure proper inventory management
• Operate kitchen appliances and tools such as cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens safely and effectively
• Manage inventory by unloading supplies and organizing the storeroom to maintain stock levels
• Participate in programs or projects aimed at improving service quality and employee productivity
• Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to support kitchen hygiene
• Develop new menu items and improve existing recipes to enhance food offerings
• Monitor and manage kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget limits
• Perform shift work as required to support kitchen operations

• Ability to cook North Indian cuisine
