Title: Software Engineer - Data (Python)

Salary: Up to SGD $225k SGD + Bonus

We are partnering with an elite, engineering-led fintech scale-up that builds ultra-high-performance trading software for some of the most sophisticated trading firms in the world. Where they work, microseconds matter and systems can’t go down. Their platform sits at the core of their clients’ trading operations, processing huge volumes of market data and executing at speeds most software never has to reach.

The firm was founded and is run by engineers. The bar is very high, the teams are small, and each person’s work has a direct, visible effect on the product. They have strong commercial momentum and are now growing their Singapore engineering hub. This is a rare chance to join a world-class team while it is still small enough for you to shape how things are built.

The Role:

We are looking for a talented Software / Data Engineer with outstanding Python skills to join a high-calibre engineering team in Singapore. The role is varied and spans three areas:

• Application Development: building and shipping production-grade Python software used by the platform and its trading clients
• Data Engineering: designing and scaling the pipelines that move and transform high-volume, time-sensitive trading and market data
• Reliability & Observability: building the tooling, metrics, dashboards and alerting that keep mission-critical systems fast, healthy and transparent

The role suits an engineer who likes variety, enjoys hard technical problems, and wants to own systems from first commit to production. You’ll work alongside exceptional engineers in an environment where performance, correctness and craftsmanship all matter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain high-quality, performant applications in Python
• Develop robust, scalable data pipelines for large volumes of real-time and historical trading data
• Build reliability and observability tooling such as metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards and alerting, so engineers and clients have full visibility of system health
• Find and fix performance bottlenecks across applications and data workflows
• Work with core platform, infrastructure and client-facing teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Help shape engineering best practices in testing, code quality, automation and system design
• Take real ownership of the systems you build, from architecture through deployment and ongoing improvement

Skills & Experience:

• Very strong Python skills, with the ability to write clean, efficient, production-quality code
• A solid software engineering foundation covering data structures, algorithms, system design and testing
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field from a top-tier university
• A track record of building and shipping reliable software in a demanding environment
• Strong problem-solving ability, curiosity, and real enthusiasm for technology

Nice to Have (Not Required):

• Experience building data pipelines or ETL workflows (e.g. Airflow, Kafka, Spark or similar)
• Experience with any major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), OpenTelemetry or similar
• Exposure to Linux, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD
• Interest in or exposure to trading, financial markets or low-latency systems (training is provided)
