Overview of the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Full Stack Developer to join our digital transformation team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and deploying secure, resilient, and citizen-centric/enterprise digital solutions that support Whole-of-Government (WOG) initiatives and business operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, system architects, and business users—to deliver impactful, scalable software applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Design & Implementation:

  Lead the design, development, and enhancement of scalable, robust web applications in accordance with government engineering standards and ICT policies (e.g., IM8).

• System Integration & APIs:

  Architect, build, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and backend microservices to integrate internal systems with Whole-of-Government platforms and external services.

• Data Management & Migration:

  Manage relational and enterprise databases; analyze legacy data structures, design mapping rules, and build scripts/pipelines to ensure accurate and secure data migration, validation, and cutover.

• Testing & Quality Assurance:

  Conduct unit, integration, and security testing (including remediation of vulnerabilities from code scans and penetration tests); debug and maintain high code quality, system performance, and reliability.

• Modernization & Maintenance:

  Provide ongoing technical support, implement bug fixes, and drive continuous system enhancements to modernize legacy systems.

• Agile Delivery & Governance:

  Work within an Agile delivery environment (Scrum/Kanban); maintain clean technical documentation, design specifications, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Experience:

  Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development delivering enterprise-scale or mission-critical applications.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong working proficiency in enterprise backend frameworks (such as Java / Spring Boot, C# / .NET, or modern Node.js).

  • Solid hands-on experience with frontend technologies (such as React, Angular, Vue.js, TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3).

  • Good foundation in relational databases (such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or MySQL) and complex SQL query tuning.

  • Practical knowledge of RESTful API design, authentication standards (OAuth, SAML), and secure coding practices.

  • Experience with data migration workflows, reconciliation, and database scripting.

• Methodologies & Tools:

  Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, and automated testing frameworks within an Agile delivery framework.

• Soft Skills:

  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
