RTD Engineer / Senior Engineer

The RTD Engineer / Senior Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing Real-Time Dispatching (RTD) strategies to enhance wafer fab manufacturing performance, including cycle time, equipment utilization, and production efficiency. The role leverages data analytics, optimization algorithms, and automation technologies to solve complex manufacturing challenges and support smart factory initiatives. Fresh Master's graduates with internship experience in dispatching optimization, scheduling, or genetic algorithms are encouraged to apply, while senior candidates are expected to possess hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing and RTD system deployment.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Real-Time Dispatching (RTD) strategies to improve fab productivity, cycle time, equipment utilization, and WIP management.
• Analyze manufacturing data and implement dispatching rules to support wafer movement and production scheduling.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Automation, and IT teams to enhance operational efficiency.
• Support RTD system deployment, tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Utilize optimization techniques, algorithms, and data analytics to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and performance monitoring tools to support production decisions.
• Participate in automation and smart manufacturing initiatives within the 300mm wafer fabrication facility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Information Technology, Data Science, or related disciplines.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fab operations, production planning, scheduling, or dispatching systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of optimization techniques, scheduling algorithms, genetic algorithms, machine learning, or operations research is an advantage.
• Familiarity with RTD, MES, APS, or factory automation systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL, Java, C++, or related languages).
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Fresh graduates with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Internship experience in dispatching optimization, scheduling algorithms, genetic algorithms, manufacturing optimization, or semiconductor-related projects will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements for Senior Engineer

• 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, RTD, scheduling, factory automation, or optimization systems.
• Proven experience leading optimization projects and implementing dispatching strategies in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields.
• Experience in genetic algorithms, mathematical optimization, simulation modeling, AI/ML, or advanced scheduling methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Applied Materials RTD or other semiconductor dispatching platforms.
