ABOUT THE ROLE

Maxify is building a scalable, dependable operating platform for AI colleagues that execute real business workflows.

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to own our technical foundations, engineering roadmap and engineering team. You will work directly with the founder and move between architecture, coding, debugging, product decisions and team leadership.

This is not a coordination-only management role. You will ship production software and set the engineering standard through your own work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own the technical architecture and engineering roadmap.
- Build reliable agent systems covering orchestration, memory, tools, permissions, evaluations, observability and human oversight.
- Lead the design, implementation, testing, deployment and operation of AI-powered products.
- Write and ship production software hands-on.
- Lead architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Establish standards for code quality, security, reliability, CI/CD and delivery speed.
- Partner with product, data and design to resolve technical risks and dependencies.
- Recruit, mentor and develop engineers.
- Work directly with the founder on product and technical strategy.

REQUIREMENTS

- Proven experience building and operating complex production software.
- Strong, current hands-on engineering skills.
- Proficiency in Python, Java or TypeScript.
- Experience designing scalable cloud architecture on AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Strong CI/CD experience.
- Engineering leadership spanning architecture, delivery, feedback and team development.
- Ability to move between implementation, debugging, product judgment and technical leadership.
- Clear communication, pragmatic decision-making, urgency and ownership.
- A degree is welcome; equivalent practical experience carries equal weight.

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience with LLM applications or agent systems.
- Experience with distributed systems, data pipelines or MLOps.
- Experience building developer platforms or workflow infrastructure.
- Startup or high-growth company experience.
