The Role

The role is to drive and execute health & safety strategy to ensure a safe & healthy environment in accordance with applicable laws & regulations for all DFI Retail Group team members, customers and business partners. The ability to uplift team members to understand their obligations, takes ownership & responsibility to prevent an incident from occurring. Driving for continuous improvement by reviewing and maintaining high standards.

• Implement H&S Strategy, by running or facilitating any activities to maintain an effective ISO45001 H&S Management System at Banner/Country level
• Develop or work with cross functional teams to develop safe work procedures that become part of the operational department procedures.
• Implement legal and corporate requirements, activities or programs on H&S.
• Be able to inspect the workplace to detect unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and discuss the findings of his inspection with cross functional head responsible for the workplace
• Assist in accident or any H&S non-compliance investigation. Review investigation report and its corrective action taken to avoid any recurrence.
• Organise campaigns, training courses, competitions, contests and other activities that will develop and maintain interest of team members in establishing safe and healthy working environment.
• Host, organise or participate any H&S Committee and H&S Committee meeting - make use of the H&S Committee meeting be part of the communication vehicle for H&S work.
• Partner with any 3rd parties in H&S, direct or assist in the development of safety training in H&S or 3rd party H&S audit 3rd party checking schemes.
• Support the continuous improvement part of the H&S system, prepare, review and improve H&S rules and procedures at Banner/Country level.

About You

• Diploma/ degree in health and safety or degree preferred.
• Certified health & safety professional with local authorities
• Minimum 8 years of experience in managing health & safety in a multi-stakeholder matrix organisation
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations of the operating countries
• Experience in retail service sector is an added advantage
• Motivate, independent, good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with ISO45001 OHS management system is a must
