岗位职责

Your Job
  • Molex is seeking an experienced Tooling Maker to support manufacturing operations at the Sanchong Plant by maintaining, repairing, modifying, assembling, and improving precision stamping tooling, fixtures, gauges, jigs, and production tooling used in connector manufacturing.

This role provides hands-on machining and tooling support to ensure tooling reliability, product quality, production continuity, and manufacturing efficiency. The successful candidate will work from engineering drawings, samples, and production requirements to fabricate tooling components, perform tooling maintenance, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and drive continuous improvement activities.

At Molex, we leverage innovation and technology to solve our customers'' most challenging interconnect and manufacturing problems. You will apply practical problem-solving skills, data-driven decision making, and an ownership mindset to create long-term value for both customers and the business.

Our Team

  • Manufacturing Engineering / Tooling Team

What You Will Do

  • Maintain, repair, modify, assemble, and troubleshoot stamping dies, tooling components, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and production tooling to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Operate machining equipment such as milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, drilling machines, tapping machines, and related equipment to fabricate or modify tooling components according to engineering drawings and manufacturing requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve tooling-related issues, including dimensional variation, burr defects, forming issues, feeding abnormalities, tooling wear, and alignment concerns.
  • Provide timely support for production-line tooling issues and minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities for tooling and dies based on maintenance schedules, tooling life cycles, wear conditions, and historical performance data.
  • Inspect tooling components using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical measurement systems, and other inspection tools.
  • Support engineering changes, tooling modifications, pilot builds, qualification runs, and new product introduction activities.
  • Analyze tooling performance, maintenance records, recurring failures, and downtime data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and external suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain proper documentation of tooling maintenance, repair history, spare parts usage, and tooling inventory records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, operational standards, and company policies while performing all machining and tooling activities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma, Technical School Certificate, Associate Degree, or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Technology, Precision Machining, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tooling maintenance, tool and die making, precision machining, stamping dies, or manufacturing support.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, tooling drawings, assembly drawings, GD&T requirements, and engineering specifications.
  • Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment including milling machines, grinders, lathes, drill presses, and tapping machines.
  • Experience using precision measurement instruments to verify dimensions and machining quality.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, maintenance records, inventory tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent production needs, and collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience supporting precision connector manufacturing, progressive stamping dies, or terminal stamping operations.
  • Experience with Wire EDM, EDM, precision grinding, form grinding, or tooling component fabrication.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, EZCAM, SolidWorks, or equivalent programs.
  • Experience with tooling preventive maintenance systems, tooling life management, and spare part control.
  • Knowledge of fixture, jig, gauge, and tooling design concepts.
  • Familiarity with quality and problem-solving methodologies such as PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, 8D, Fishbone Analysis, and 5-Why.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, tooling qualification, or pilot production builds.
  • Experience in automation tooling integration and manufacturing process improvement projects.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
