Smart Home Consultant

6-Month Contract | S$2,200–S$3,700/month

Smart Theory is looking for a hands-on Smart Home Consultant to join our growing team.

This role is suitable for someone who enjoys technology, troubleshooting, smart home systems and working directly with customers. You do not need prior smart home experience — training will be provided.

We care much more about attitude, willingness to learn and ownership than how many years of experience you have. We do not micro-manage, each employee is given the necessary independence to complete their projects.

Compensation

Guaranteed base salary: from S$2,200/month

You will also receive project-based incentives for completed installations, with the opportunity to earn up to approximately S$1,500 additional per month.

Total monthly compensation can therefore range from approximately S$2,200 to S$3,700, depending on project volume andperformance.

Working Arrangement

This is a hybrid role:

~60% On-site

Smart home configuration, troubleshooting and client handover at residential projects around Singapore.

~40% Work From Home

Offline configuration, documentation, scheduling, testing and other preparation work.

Malaysian applicants are welcome. For suitable candidates,the WFH portion of the role can be completed from Malaysia, subject to operational requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

Configure smart home devices and systems at client homes

Set up and troubleshoot devices such as smart switches, sensors, lighting, curtains and smart home hubs

Explain smart home devices and functionality clearly to homeowners

Handle client enquiries and provide post-installation troubleshooting

Perform offline configuration and testing before installations

Coordinate project schedules and installation timelines

Create, document and continuously improve internal SOPs

Lead and coordinate part-time technicians during projects

Assist with testing new smart home products and technologies

Assist with educational social media content when required

This is not a sales position.

Your role is primarily technical, operational and customer-facing.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome candidates with:

0–3 years of working experience

Fresh graduates and candidates with no prior experience

NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or Degree qualifications

Strong interest in technology, smart homes, IoT or automation

Comfortable working independently and solving problems

Good communication skills when dealing with homeowners

Ability to learn technical systems quickly

Willingness to travel to different client locations in Singapore

Ability to take ownership of projects from configuration through handover

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a good attitude, strong learning mindset and willingness to take responsibility.

Bonus Skills

These aren't required, but would be useful:

Zigbee / Matter / Thread

Networking / Wi-Fi troubleshooting

Basic electrical knowledge

Smart home devices such as Aqara, Sonoff, Tuya, Broadlink, etc.

AI and LLM tools such as ChatGPT, Codex or Claude

Social media or video-content creation

Training will be provided, so don't worry if you haven'tworked with these systems before.

Career Progression

This role is designed for someone who wants to grow together with the company.

Strong performers can progressively take ownership of larger projects, supervise technicians and help build Smart Theory's operational processes.

There is a potential pathway toward a Team Leader position within approximately 2–3 years, depending on performance, leadership ability and business growth.
