Role Description The Process Engineering Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Penang, Malaysia. This role supports process engineers in developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, and electromechanical assembly. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring production parameters, performing process checks, collecting and analyzing process data, and assisting with line setup and changeovers. The technician is responsible for identifying process variations, supporting troubleshooting activities, and implementing corrective actions to improve yield, quality, and productivity. Additional responsibilities include preparing process documentation, working closely with manufacturing teams on continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills for data interpretation, problem identification, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in Process Control to maintain stable operations, monitor parameters, and support standardization.
- Ability in Troubleshooting to diagnose process issues, propose solutions, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Knowledge of Process Engineering principles, including process optimization, workflow improvements, and documentation.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering practices, particularly in sheet metal fabrication, machining, or electromechanical assembly.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Familiarity with production equipment, basic measuring tools, and quality control procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operators.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Penang and support shift or overtime work when required.
