About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Research Scientist with an interest in enzyme engineering to join our Enzyme Innovation team. In this role, you will combine rational design principles with AI-driven approaches to engineer enzymes with enhanced properties for industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design new enzyme variants with the help of rational design and AI tools
• Conduct experiments to evaluate activity, stability, selectivity, and other key properties of the enzyme variants
• Critically analyze collected data for further optimization of enzyme variants
• Communicate results clearly through internal reports, presentations, and scientific publications
• Collaborate with colleagues at other Wilmar related entities to translate research findings in the lab into industrial settings
• Stay current with advances in protein engineering, AI-based design tools, and relevant literature

Qualifications

Required

• PhD in biochemistry, protein engineering, molecular biology or a related field
• Experience with standard molecular biology and protein expression techniques
• Strong interest in biology research
• Ability to work independently and proactive in exploring new ideas

Preferred

• Hands-on experience in protein engineering
• Understanding of protein structure-function relationships
