Key Responsibilities:

• Assess Linux servers (RHEL, Oracle Linux, etc.) reaching EOS and prepare change request.
• Plans and Perform OS upgrades, to supported versions or alternative platforms (e.g., RHEL 8/9, OL 8/9).
• Coordinate with application, database, and middleware teams to validate compatibility before and after migration.
• Implement automation using Shell scripting for bulk upgrade.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all EOS activities and change requests.
• Conduct post-upgrade validation, performance checks, and rollback planning.
• Work with vendors in case any issue during the upgrade for the fix.
• Support a 24*7 work environment under a flexible work arrangement for the EOS migration.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology & any related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration (RHEL / Oracle Linux).
• Experience in in-place upgrades and server rebuilds.
• Scripting skills (Shell, Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools such as Satellite, Spacewalk, Puppet.
• Good understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts (VMware).
• Experience with ITSM processes (Change, Incident, Problem Management).
• Certification: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent will be an advantage.
