Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, tendering, contract administration, procurement, claims, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within the approved budget and contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong commercial and negotiation skills, sound knowledge of construction contracts, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with project teams, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, and cost plans.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and review construction drawings and specifications.
• Manage the tendering process, including tender evaluation, quotation comparisons, and commercial negotiations.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate Variation Orders (VO) and additional work claims.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.
• Review and certify progress claims from subcontractors and prepare interim payment applications to clients.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and payment assessments.
• Prepare cost reports and provide regular financial updates to project management.
• Review contractual terms, assess contractual risks, and manage commercial claims.
• Prepare, negotiate, and finalise project and subcontractor final accounts.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to resolve commercial and contractual matters.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
• Supervise and guide junior Quantity Surveyors when required.
• Ensure all quantity surveying activities comply with company procedures, project requirements, and relevant contractual obligations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, cost control, and final accounts.
• Experience in handling Variation Orders, progress claims, subcontractor payments, and contractual negotiations.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant quantity surveying software.
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.
• Experience in building, high-rise, infrastructure, or commercial construction projects will be an advantage.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
