Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to drive category performance through strategic assortment planning, strong supplier partnerships, and effective sales and margin management. This role plays a key part in delivering business growth and enhancing product offerings across all stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with market trends and business objectives
• Manage product assortment, including new product development and innovation
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including leading commercial negotiations
• Monitor sales performance, margins, and product productivity to drive growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and availability
• Ensure compliance with company policies and governance standards
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in category management, merchandising, sourcing, or purchasing (Retail/FMCG)
• Strong experience in supplier management and commercial negotiations
• Proven track record in assortment planning and margin management
• Good understanding of market trends and consumer behaviour
• Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-outlet retail environment is an advantage
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM9,500.00 per month
