Full-Time | Kuala Lumpur 

Cote & Ciel is a Paris-born design brand known for its distinctive approach to bags and everyday carry, combining innovative design, sculptural silhouettes, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics.

We are looking for Senior Sales Assistants who are confident, independent, customer-focused and passionate about design and lifestyle products to join our new Cote & Ciel retail store in Malaysia.

This role goes beyond a standard Sales Assistant position. We are looking for someone who can connect with customers, understand their lifestyle, and tell the story behind the products — from the design inspiration and materials to how the product can naturally fit into their everyday life.

Requirements

• Candidates must possess at least SPM with 2–4 years of retail sales experience, preferably in premium fashion, bags, luggage, accessories, lifestyle, design, or similar retail.

• Experience with brands such as TUMI, Coach, COS, MUJI, Bellroy, Samsonite, Apple, Dyson, or similar premium/lifestyle brands is an advantage.

• Strong interest in design, fashion, architecture, lifestyle, or contemporary culture, with a natural ability to talk about products beyond their basic features.

• Strong consultative selling and communication skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and confidently explain design, materials, craftsmanship, functionality, and lifestyle applications.

• Responsible, presentable, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision; good command of English and Malay is required, while Mandarin is an advantage.

1. Customer Experience & Sales

• Deliver a premium and personalised shopping experience that reflects the Cote & Ciel brand.

• Understand customers' lifestyle, preferences, and needs through natural and engaging conversations before recommending products.

• Communicate the design inspiration, materials, craftsmanship, functionality, and story behind each product in a way customers can relate to.

• Demonstrate how products can fit into different lifestyles and occasions, such as work, commuting, travel, and everyday urban living.

• Drive individual sales performance, recommend suitable complementary products and contribute to overall store sales targets.

2. Brand & Product Knowledge

• Develop strong knowledge of Cote & Ciel's brand identity, design philosophy, collections, materials, and product features.

• Understand the design thinking and inspiration behind key products and collections.

• Translate technical or design features into clear, relevant lifestyle benefits for customers.

• Stay updated on new collections, product launches, promotions, and brand initiatives.

• Participate actively in brand and product training to continuously improve product knowledge and selling skills.

3. Store Operations

• Take ownership of daily store operations and maintain the store according to Cote & Ciel's retail and visual merchandising standards.

• Ensure product presentation, displays, cleanliness, stock organisation, and overall store appearance are maintained at all times.

• Operate POS and cashless payment systems accurately and maintain all required sales records and documentation.

• Assist with stock receiving, stock counts, transfers, replenishment, and inventory accuracy.

• Complete daily sales and operational reports and support store opening and closing procedures.

4. After-Sales & Customer Relationship

• Provide professional support for customer enquiries, exchanges, warranty matters, and other after-sales requests.

• Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to HQ when required.

• Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat visits and purchases.

• Gather customer feedback, product requests, and market observations to share with the HQ team.

• Maintain a consistent premium customer experience throughout the entire customer journey.

5. Teamwork & Store Ownership

• Work collaboratively with the retail team to achieve store sales targets and maintain high service standards.

• Work independently and take initiative to identify and resolve day-to-day store issues.

• Support new or less experienced team members when required.

• Act as a liaison between the retail team and HQ when assigned.
