Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using PowerBuilder and PowerScript.

• Design and develop DataWindows, windows, menus, user objects, and scripts.

• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.

• Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely fixes.

• Perform debugging, testing, and performance tuning.

• Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.

• Support application deployment and production issues.

• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers.

• Prepare technical documentation as required.

Required Skills

• 3–8 years of hands-on experience in PowerBuilder development.

• Strong knowledge of PowerScript.

• Good experience with DataWindow development and customization.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts.

• Experience with stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database performance tuning.

• Good understanding of software development and debugging practices.

• Ability to understand and maintain existing applications.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with PowerBuilder upgrades/migrations.

• Knowledge of PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation Class).

• Experience working with APIs, REST/SOAP web services, or third-party integrations.

• Exposure to version control tools such as Git or SVN.

• Experience in enterprise or client-server applications.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Equivalent technical experience may also be considered.
