Reporting to : Import & Export Manager

This role is required to maintain business continuity and provide sufficient operational capacity for Kerry's growing import and export activities.

This role will ensure timely and compliant shipment execution, accurate customs and trade documentation and coordination with brokers, freight forwarders and regulatory authorities.

Hiring the specialist will reduce compliance and financial risks, prevent shipment delays, protect customer service levels and support Kerry's scalable global supply chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support, and guide the Import Export Specialists in managing daily operational activities received through the centrally managed shared inbox.
• Oversee the review of import/export requirements and ensure accurate generation of SAP GTS Import/Export Declaration Instruction Sheets.
• Ensure documentation requirements are clearly understood and completed in line with customer, country, customs, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal Kerry functions to support the preparation of required documents such as Export Health Certificates, Composite Product Private Attestations, Phytosanitary Certificates, Certificates of Origin, and other relevant trade documents.
• Act as the first point of escalation for Kerry sites, transport providers, brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders on import/export operational matters.
• Monitor service levels, workload distribution, process adherence, and operational performance to ensure timely and accurate delivery of import/export services.
• Review completed import/export declarations and document sets against instructions, identify errors or gaps, and ensure corrective actions are completed with brokers or freight forwarders.
• Ensure completed declarations and supporting documents are organised, retained, and filed according to local customs and Kerry record-keeping requirements.
• Provide coaching, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day guidance to team members to strengthen capability, consistency, and compliance awareness.
• Support onboarding, training, process updates, and cross-training activities within the team.
• Partner with regional Trade Compliance, Logistics, Customer Care, Commercial, and external service providers to resolve operational issues and improve ways of working.
• Identify process gaps, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives across import/export operations.
• Prepare and share operational updates, performance insights, and issue summaries with the Import Export Manager as required.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, Commercial, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in import/export, customs, logistics, or international trade operations.
• Strong working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations, customs documentation, trade compliance requirements, and import/export formalities.
• Prior experience in leading, coaching, or coordinating a team in a shared services or operations environment would be an advantage.
• Experience using SAP GTS, SAP ECC, or similar trade management systems would be an advantage.
• High level of English language proficiency as this is Kerry's most widely spoken language.
• Proficiency in one or more additional foreign language would be significant advantage.
