JOB DESCRIPTION: SITE CONSTRUCTION QA/QC ENGINEER

Job Title: Site QA/QC Engineer
Department: Construction / Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Reports To: Project Manager / QA/QC Manager
Work Location: Construction Site

1. Job Summary

The Site Construction QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, project quality requirements, applicable codes, and relevant standards.

The role involves conducting site inspections, coordinating inspections with clients and consultants, monitoring material quality, managing quality documentation, and ensuring that all construction works meet the required quality standards.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Quality Assurance (QA)

• Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
• Review and verify method statements, material submittals, and inspection procedures.
• Monitor compliance with project quality requirements and company procedures.
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure quality requirements are understood and implemented on site.

B. Quality Control (QC) and Site Inspection

• Conduct daily site inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Inspect civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works, as applicable to the project.
• Coordinate and witness inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors.
• Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) or Requests for Inspection (RFIs), according to project procedures.
• Monitor concrete pouring, reinforcement installation, formwork, waterproofing, masonry, and other construction activities as applicable.
• Verify that materials delivered to site are approved and comply with the specified requirements.
• Coordinate material testing, concrete cube tests, soil compaction tests, and other required quality tests.
• Ensure inspection and testing activities are completed before work proceeds to the next stage.

C. Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions

• Identify and report non-conforming works, materials, and construction practices.
• Issue or coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in accordance with project procedures.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until satisfactory closure.
• Investigate recurring quality issues and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
• Verify that rectification works meet the required quality standards before acceptance.

D. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain and update quality records, inspection reports, test reports, and checklists.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports as required.
• Maintain records of approved drawings, material approvals, method statements, and ITPs.
• Prepare and maintain the site quality dossier, including inspection and testing records.
• Monitor and update the status of inspections, NCRs, corrective actions, and outstanding quality issues.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
