Job Scope

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter to support our production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, manual programming, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specified quality standards.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, G-code programming, tooling, machine setup, and precision measurement. The candidate must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a production team.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Setup & Programming

o Set up CNC milling machines for production runs.

o Install and align fixtures, workpieces, cutting tools, and related equipment.

o Load, verify, and edit CNC programs, including G-code.

o Set machine parameters, work offsets, tool offsets, and cutting conditions.

o Conduct trial runs and first-piece inspections before commencing full production.

Machining & Production

o Operate CNC milling machines and other workshop equipment as required.

o Monitor machining operations to ensure consistent production performance.

o Adjust machine settings, feeds, speeds, and offsets to achieve the required tolerances.

o Replace wear or damage cutting tools and maintain adequate tooling availability.

o Identify and resolve minor machine, tooling, or machining issues to minimize downtime.

o Meet production schedules while maintaining product quality and workplace safety.

Quality Inspection and Documentation

o Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.

o Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

o Verify that finished components meet dimensional, visual, and quality requirements.

o Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and machine setup documentation.

o Report non-conforming parts or recurring production issues to the supervisor or relevant department.

Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting

o Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.

o Monitor machine condition and report abnormalities promptly.

o Carry out minor troubleshooting related to machine operation, tooling, and workholding.

o Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

o Ensure tools, gauges, fixtures, and equipment are stored properly after use.

Safety & Compliance

o Follow all company safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.

o Use the required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves where appropriate.

o Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other machine safety requirements.

o Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, and equipment defects immediately.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 Minimum SPM, preferably with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining, or a related field.

 At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in CNC milling.

 Strong knowledge of CNC milling operations and G-code programming.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
