Company Description

Crescent Engineering (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (CESSB) specialises in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of industrial rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, gearboxes and steam turbines.

Based in Bintulu, Sarawak, we provide mechanical engineering, equipment refurbishment, precision machining, dynamic balancing and component restoration services to support industrial asset reliability.

Role Description

We are seeking a technically competent and hands-on MRO Engineer to support our rotating-equipment repair and overhaul operations in Bintulu.

The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment inspection, technical assessment, repair methodology development, quality control and coordination of workshop MRO activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for the inspection, repair, refurbishment and overhaul of rotating equipment.
• Conduct equipment condition assessments, dimensional inspections and technical evaluations.
• Develop repair methodologies, technical work scopes and engineering recommendations.
• Prepare as-found inspection reports, repair reports and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate workshop activities, including machining, component restoration, assembly and dynamic balancing.
• Review engineering drawings, OEM manuals, technical specifications and applicable standards.
• Implement QA/QC requirements, inspection checklists and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Support equipment troubleshooting, failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Liaise with customers, vendors and workshop personnel on technical matters.
• Ensure compliance with company HSSE procedures and quality requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• More than 3 years of relevant working experience in rotating-equipment MRO, mechanical maintenance, refurbishment or related engineering services.
• Good understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical inspection, engineering tolerances and repair processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prepare technical reports.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake hands-on workshop assignments.

Preferred:

• Sarawakian candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, gearboxes and/or steam turbines.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, ISO and applicable engineering standards.
• Exposure to machining, dimensional inspection, NDT and dynamic balancing.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, ITPs and technical documentation.
• Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation or industrial maintenance.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
