We’re Hiring: Branch Manager / Northern Area Manager

Penang, Malaysia

Polyscientific Enterprise Sdn Bhd is looking for an experienced and commercially driven leader to manage our Penang branch and lead the growth of our business across the Northern Region.

This is a senior role combining regional sales leadership, branch management, team development and strategic customer growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating company objectives into practical regional plans while ensuring strong commercial, operational and service performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the Northern Region sales team in achieving approved sales, gross profit, customer growth and strategic portfolio targets

• Develop regional sales plans by territory, customer segment, salesperson and product category

• Monitor sales performance, pipelines, forecasts, customer gains and losses, and cross-selling opportunities

• Manage the Penang branch’s operations, resources, expenses, stock requirements, backorders and service standards

• Coach and develop the sales team through field visits, account planning, pipeline reviews and performance discussions

• Strengthen relationships with key customers, dealers and business partners

• Oversee major quotations, tenders, product trials and strategic projects

• Drive growth across our PPE, chemical, scientific and technical product portfolios

• Maintain strong discipline in CRM reporting, margin protection, credit management and operational compliance

The ideal candidate will have:

• Substantial B2B sales experience, preferably involving industrial, safety, chemical, scientific or technical products

• Proven experience leading a sales team, branch, territory or business unit

• Strong commercial knowledge of pricing, gross margin, forecasting, stock and credit management

• The ability to coach employees, manage performance and develop key accounts

• Strong communication, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office and business reporting tools

• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin language would be desirable.

• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the Northern Region

A diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, Science or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
