SSRS Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SSRS Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance business and operational reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

The successful candidate will work closely with business users, application teams, and database teams to understand reporting requirements, develop reliable reporting solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support existing reports in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SSRS reports based on business and functional requirements.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions using T-SQL.
• Build reports with parameters, filters, grouping, sorting, drill-downs, subreports, and calculated fields.
• Develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Builder, and/or Visual Studio/SSDT.
• Connect SSRS reports to SQL Server databases and other data sources.
• Perform report testing, data validation, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Analyse and resolve reporting, SQL, and data-related issues.
• Optimise SQL queries and report performance where required.
• Deploy and maintain reports in the SSRS Report Server environment.
• Support scheduled report generation and report distribution.
• Work with business users to clarify requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation for reports, queries, data sources, and reporting processes.
• Provide production support and enhancements for existing reports.
• Collaborate with developers, database administrators, business analysts, and other technical teams.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with SSRS / SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL skills.
• Experience developing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with SSRS Report Builder and/or Visual Studio/SSDT.
• Good understanding of relational databases and data structures.
• Experience with report development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Power BI.
• Knowledge of SSIS / ETL.
• Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex reporting requirements.
• Experience in enterprise or financial/insurance/banking environments.

Education

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
