Role Description This contract role is for an Application Developer (AS400) based on-site in WP, Kuala Lumpur. The developer will design, develop, and maintain applications on the AS400 platform, ensuring stability, performance, and alignment with business requirements. Daily responsibilities include writing and testing code, managing data workflows, working with databases, and supporting integration between AS400 systems and other applications. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, optimizing existing programs, and collaborating with functional and technical teams to deliver enhancements and new features. The developer will also prepare technical documentation, follow established development standards, and participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.

Job Role- Application Developer (AS 400)

Job Mode- Six months contract and extendable

Exp- 3-5 years working experience

Location- KL

Responsibilities:

Design, develop applications and supporting components to meet business needs

Conduct discussion with business users to gather systems requirement

Conduct unit testing on applications to ensure its readiness for SIT / UAT

Conduct functional and non-functional testing of applications

Provide effective post go-live system support and maintenance for in-house build application systems

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field Familiar with complete system development life cycle

Experience in AS/SET programming (an added advantage). Training will be provided if does not have knowledge or experience in AS/SET programming

Experience in AS400 Operating System, AS400 Control language (an added advantage).

Domain knowledge in insurance industry (an added advantage)

Knowledge in other common programming languages like Java, HTML, JavaScript (an added advantage)

Able to communicate clearly with users and team members, in terms of verbal and written communications

Able to train team members on areas related to technical, system and business knowledge.
