Your team

The Pictet Group is one of the world’s leading independent wealth and asset managers. Founded in 1805 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Group is represented in 30 offices in financial centres worldwide, currently employing over 5300 people. Pictet Asset Management manages the assets of some of the world’s largest institutions, financial intermediaries and their clients. Our culture welcomes independent thinkers and centres around investment excellence, a long-term perspective and a dedication to client service.

Your role

As key member of the Pictet Asset Management (PAM) Asia Equity Special Situations team, this role supports the Lead Portfolio Manager by conducting investment research across Asia-Pacific equity markets, with a focus on identifying liquid, event-driven trading opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain proprietary financial models (including LBO, DCF, NAV, relative value comparables and merger arbitrage spread analyses) and clearly articulate trading ideas to internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitor announced corporate events and quantify key risk factors, risk/reward profiles and market‑implied expectations, updating assumptions in a timely and rigorous manner.
  • Maintain active dialogue with sell-side analysts, meet company management teams and participate in relevant industry conferences.
  • Contribute to portfolio risk monitoring and help implement a robust framework to mitigate factor risks across sub‑strategies.

Your profile

  • University degree in Finance, Law or Mathematics; industry qualifications such as the CFA are an asset.
  • Experience on the buy side (e.g. hedge fund) or at a global investment bank, with a focus on equities, investment banking or quantitative investment.
  • Proven experience in Asian equity markets, with a solid understanding of M&A and equity capital markets; index rebalance expertise is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Asia-Pacific market regulations, including Japan and Australia.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; results‑oriented, driven and a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Bloomberg and Excel, including VBA; exposure to Python is an advantage.

The successful candidate is versatile, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and highly diligent. You will demonstrate strong financial, risk management and regulatory knowledge, and work in a disciplined, rigorous and forward‑thinking manner. You will also be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with key business stakeholders.

We will not accept any CVs via agencies
