Assistant Production Manager – Battery Manufacturing Excellence

About the Role

We’re seeking a dynamic Assistant Production Manager to lead workshop operations in a fast-paced battery manufacturing environment. This role is perfect for an experienced leader who thrives on driving efficiency, ensuring quality, and building strong teams.

You’ll oversee production schedules, optimize processes, and champion safety and 6S practices — all while shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Management – Develop and monitor workshop schedules, resolve production issues, and report monthly performance.
• Process & Quality Control – Ensure compliance with process standards, analyze scrap/waste data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Team Development – Promote company culture, build talent pipelines, and implement training plans for multi-skilled employees.
• 6S & Safety Leadership – Establish and enforce 6S and safety systems, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions.
• Equipment Oversight – Coordinate maintenance plans, monitor daily upkeep, and support new equipment selection and disposal.
• Performance & Compensation – Plan workforce needs, set piece rates, and oversee performance appraisal systems.
• Product Development – Manage product trials, identify issues, and recommend improvements for small-batch production.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with battery manufacturing processes and electrochemistry knowledge.
• 8+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in workshop management.
• Training in production management, lithium-ion battery safety, quality systems, and environmental management.
• Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.

Pay: RM6,700.00 - RM8,400.00 per month
