Senior GL Executive

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior GL Executive with strong hands-on experience in General Ledger accounting, month-end closing, reconciliations, journal entries and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting records, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and assisting with financial reporting and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full set of General Ledger (GL) accounting activities.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries and ensure proper account coding.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management and financial reports.
• Review and analyse GL accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure timely and accurate intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting information to auditors.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and other financial analysis when required.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Work closely with internal teams to resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.
• Support process improvement initiatives and other finance-related projects as required.

Requirements

• Malaysian citizen.
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3–4 years of relevant General Ledger or accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in month-end closing, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and meet month-end reporting deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with solid hands-on GL experience are preferred, particularly those with practical experience in:

• Month-end and year-end closing
• General Ledger accounting
• Journal entries
• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Financial and management reporting
• Audit support
