Role Description The PLC Software Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore. This role involves designing, programming, and testing PLC software for automation systems, ensuring reliable control and integration with mechanical and electrical components. The engineer will participate in system design reviews, create technical documentation, and support commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment at customer sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, refining control logic based on performance data, and implementing improvements to meet safety, quality, and productivity requirements. The role also involves providing ongoing technical support, training relevant stakeholders on system operation, and adhering to industry standards and company procedures.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science to understand systems architecture, algorithms, and data structures relevant to automation solutions.
• Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and Programming, including experience writing efficient, maintainable code and working with PLC programming environments.
• Candidates should possess competencies in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), enabling modular, reusable, and scalable software design for complex automation systems.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with Back-End Web Development concepts, particularly for interfacing PLC systems with databases, APIs, dashboards, or industrial IoT platforms.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering, or related field is preferred.
• Experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron) and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in an industrial or automation environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively on-site with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
• Willingness to support commissioning activities and occasional travel to customer facilities, if required.
