Role Description The Resident Engineer Electrical role is a full-time, on-site position based in Johore, Malaysia. This role is responsible for overseeing electrical engineering activities on assigned projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and approving electrical designs and drawings, coordinating with design teams and contractors, monitoring installation and commissioning of electrical systems, and resolving technical issues on site. The Resident Engineer Electrical will conduct inspections, prepare progress and technical reports, support testing and troubleshooting activities, and ensure that power distribution and related systems operate efficiently and reliably. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, participating in client meetings, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with practical understanding of electricity and applicable standards.
• Proficiency in Electrical Design and related tools, with experience interpreting and reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of Power Systems and Power Distribution, including design, installation, testing, and maintenance in industrial or commercial environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; professional certification or registration is an advantage.
• Experience as a site or resident engineer on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, preferably within Malaysia or the broader region.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, safety regulations, and best practices for electrical installations and commissioning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and produce accurate technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
