We have an opportunity to invite a Payment-talent to join our exciting growth journey as a
Assistant Manager, Risk & Compliance (Fintech Payment)
. The person will be based in Singapore but has responsibilities across all businesses.
Responsibilities:
Advisory & Framework Management
MAS Notice Implementation
: Translate changes in regulatory notices (such as MAS Notice PSN01 or changes to the Payment Services Act) into actual operational compliance steps.
Product Advisory
: Review new product feature rollouts (e.g., cross-border multi-currency wallets, merchant checkout portals) to identify inherent regulatory or fraud risks before launch.
Audit & Regulatory Liaison
: Act as the primary coordinator for internal, external audits and regular information requests from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Regulatory Compliance & Governance Framework
Compliance Review
: Design and execute compliance plans and lead compliance reviews.
Regulatory Updates
: Keep abreast of regulatory developments and update business units of the latest requirements.
Policy Management
: Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures and manuals to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and best practices.
Compliance Management
: Review business agreements and terms & conditions for alignment with laws and regulation.
Risk Management & Financial Crime
Financial Crime
: Review and decide on complex AML/CFT, Sanctions, or fraud alerts escalated by junior executives.
AML/CFT Framework
: Manage and execute company-wide AML/CFT programme to provide assurance on adherence to local and international standards and best practices
Transaction Monitoring Programme
: Work closely with product and data engineering teams to continuously fine-tune transaction monitoring rules, reduce false positives, and deploy tech-driven automation.
Suspicious Transaction Reporting
: Lead the investigation into suspicious activities and draft Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for final sign-off before submission to the CommercialAffairs Department (CAD).
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
: Regularly assess operational, transactional, and settlement risk vectors. Implement and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) across various payment rails.
Support & Administration
Staff Awareness
: Curate awareness materials and conduct regular compliance training to staff
Projects & Assignments
: Handle ad hoc projects assigned by management
Requirements:
University degree holder in Business, Law or related disciplines
Proven experience (3 to 6 years) in compliance, KYC, CDD, or AML/CFT, transaction monitoring, or risk management, preferably within the payment services or financial services industry
Domain knowledge and proficiency in the Payment Services Act 2019, in particular AML/CFT/PF laws and regulation in Singapore
Solid grasp of how money flows across regional or global payment schemes (e.g., FAST, SWIFT, crossborder remittance, merchant acquiring, and e-wallets).
Exceptional critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with attention to detail to analyse complex data, identify inconsistencies, and effectively assess and mitigate risks
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings, writing clear reports, and liaising effectively with internal teams
Confident communication skills to advise internal product and sales teams on compliance limitations, and to handle direct queries from external auditors or law enforcement (e.g. CAD).
Ability to work independently while contributing collaboratively within the Risk & Compliance Team
