Role Description The Financial Controller role at Smart-Gas is a full-time, on-site position based in Singapore. The Financial Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations, including preparation of financial statements, monthly closing activities, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. This role will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with local regulations and company policies, and support internal and external audits. The Financial Controller will analyze financial data to provide insights on profitability, cost control, and business performance, and will collaborate with senior leadership on strategic financial planning. Day-to-day responsibilities also include supervising the finance team, improving internal controls and processes, managing relationships with banks and external partners, and supporting decision-making for operational and expansion activities.

Qualifications

• Strong Accounting, Finance, and Financial Reporting skills, with the ability to prepare and review accurate financial statements.
• Excellent Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and supporting informed business decisions.
• Experience managing full sets of accounts, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation and cash flow for a growing organization.
• Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and local regulatory requirements; familiarity with audit processes.
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP software (SAP), and strong MS Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is an advantage.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within industrial gas, manufacturing, or related sectors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with capacity to lead and mentor a finance team.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
