Contract: 12 months (renewal / conversion possible)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Occasional evening or night calls may be required to support US stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement

• Manage quotations, purchase requisitions and purchase orders for direct materials and regulated indirect materials.

• Source and purchase materials from local and overseas suppliers.

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to prevent stock shortages.

• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing information and supplier performance data.

• Monitor open, overdue and ageing purchase orders to ensure timely fulfilment and compliance with procurement policies.

Supplier Management & Cost Optimisation

• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.

• Negotiate favourable commercial terms and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Drive procurement initiatives involving localisation, direct sourcing and business continuity planning (BCP) to mitigate supply risks.

Inventory & Supply Planning

• Optimise inventory levels based on demand forecasts, service requirements and operational targets.

• Balance inventory levels, service requirements and working capital costs.

• Monitor excess and slow-moving inventory and mitigate critical material shortages.

• Apply supply planning strategies such as MRP, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Supplier Pull and historical usage analysis.

Data Analysis & Logistics Coordination

• Analyse purchasing data and prepare reports to identify procurement improvement opportunities.

• Coordinate urgent shipments, warehouse receiving and inspection activities.

• Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve purchasing or delivery issues.

Quality & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications.

• Work with Quality, Production, Engineering and Finance teams to resolve supplier and product quality issues.

• Support internal controls, SOX compliance and internal/external audits.

• Participate in cross-functional projects, new product development and regional material planning initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.

• Relevant hands-on experience in purchasing, buying or procurement within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong experience in vendor management and supplier relationship development.

• Must have direct purchasing/buying experience, not solely supplier relationship management experience.

• Manufacturing and raw-material procurement experience is strongly preferred.

• Experience managing direct materials and overseas suppliers will be advantageous.
