Role Description The Senior Payments Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur, with a combination of in-office and work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for overseeing payment card processing operations, including transaction monitoring, exception handling, and reconciliation of payment activities. The specialist will analyze payment data to identify trends, issues, and optimization opportunities, and support the design of efficient, compliant payment workflows. Daily tasks include collaborating with finance and accounting teams, responding to internal and external inquiries on payment status, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and card network requirements. The role will also involve supporting process improvements, documenting procedures, and partnering with technology teams to implement enhancements aligned with Xionex’s AI-enabled operational model.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret transaction data, identify discrepancies, and propose process improvements.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Payment Card Processing, including card scheme rules, settlement processes, chargebacks, and reconciliation activities.
• Candidates should possess solid Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and partners.
• Candidates should possess knowledge in Finance and Accounting to understand ledger impacts, reconciliation practices, and financial controls related to payments.
• Relevant experience in banking, payments, or financial services operations, preferably in a senior or specialist capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a hybrid environment, managing priorities independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with payment gateways, card networks, and related regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI DSS) is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
