About The Role

  • To own contract governance and contracting for a designated contract or line of business within CBRE Data Center Solutions (DCS)- Direct Line Business, making sure every agreement is issued on approved templates, reviewed, agreed, executed, and filed correctly.
  • The Contract Commercial Manager is the day-to-day contracting contact for the client and works with the operational team so that quotations are submitted in a form that allows contracts to come through cleanly and quickly.
  • The role operates within the commercial frameworks, templates, and delegations of authority set by the Divisional Commercial Director

What You’ll Do

Contract Governance and Execution

  • Ensure all contracts, statements of work, purchase orders, variations, and change orders for the contract or line of business are issued on CBRE-approved templates and the agreed framework terms.
  • Review contract documents once issued by the client, checking scope, pricing, payment terms, and key provisions against the approved template, the agreed framework, and the quotation submitted.
  • Identify departures from the approved position and liaise with the client to correct them, escalating material deviations as required.
  • Manage documents through internal review and delegation of authority approval to execution, making sure the correct version is signed by the correct signatory.
  • File executed contracts and supporting records in the designated repository and keep the contract register complete and current.
  • Track key dates and obligations, including expiry, renewal, notice periods, insurance, and security requirements, and flag them to the business in time to act.

Client Liaison

  • Act as the primary commercial contact for the client on contracting matters for the assigned contract or line of business.
  • Build working relationships with the client's procurement, and contracts teams to keep documents moving and turnaround times short.
  • Resolve contracting queries and administrative issues, such as version control, missing information, or purchase order mismatches, before they delay execution or payment.
  • Attend client and account governance meetings where contracting matters are on the agenda.

Quotation Quality and Team Support

  • Work with operational and account teams so that quotations are prepared on the approved templates, reference the correct framework terms, and set out the scope, assumptions, and exclusions needed for a clean contract.
  • Review quotations before submission for compliance with commercial policy, pricing rules, and delegations of authority.
  • Give the team practical feedback where a quotation has caused contracting delays or disputes, and fix the process issue behind it.
  • Maintain standard assumptions, exclusions, and quotation guidance for the contract or line of business.

Commercial Policy / Procedure Compliance

  • Promote compliance with CBRE governance policies, procedures, and delegations of authority.
  • Maintain and advise on the use of standard documentation and templates, and recommend updates to the Commercial Director where templates no longer fit the work.
  • Check and challenge business processes for compliance, and report exceptions.
  • Provide accurate contract data for Business Reviews, audits, and commercial reporting.

Educate and Advise

  • Advise the operational team on contractual obligations, including scope, change control, notices, and invoicing requirements.
  • Deliver briefings and training on the quotation-to-contract process and the correct use of templates.
  • Raise commercial awareness across the team through day-to-day guidance and team meetings.

In-Life Contract Management

  • Administer change control and variations in line with the contract, making sure changes are documented and agreed before work proceeds.
  • Identify commercial risk arising in delivery, such as scope creep or work performed without a signed contract or valid purchase order, and escalate with options.
  • Support the Commercial Director on renewals, claims, and disputes by providing contract history, correspondence, and supporting documentation.

What Success Looks Like

  • Contracts issued on approved templates, with deviations identified and resolved or approved before signature.
  • Contracts executed before work starts; no work performed without a signed contract or valid purchase order.
  • Contract review and execution turnaround times met.
  • Contract register and filing complete, accurate, and audit ready.
  • Quotations submitted in the correct format, reducing rework and contracting delays.
  • Key dates and obligations flagged in time; no missed renewals or notice periods.
  • Positive client feedback on responsiveness and quality of contracting support.
  • Operational team understands and follows the quotation-to-contract process.

  • These are the capabilities we consider essential for success in this role.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the discipline to spot where a contract departs from the approved template or the quotation it reflects.
  • Sound working knowledge of services contracts, including scope, pricing and payment terms, change control, liability, insurance, and termination.
  • Organised and process driven, able to manage a high volume of documents through review, approval, execution, and filing without losing track.
  • Confident dealing with client procurement and contracts teams, and able to explain contractual requirements to operational colleagues in plain terms.
