SAP Project Manager

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead and deliver SAP transformation programs, implementation projects, rollouts, upgrades, and support initiatives across regional and global landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and hands-on experience managing end-to-end SAP projects within complex enterprise environments.

The SAP Project Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, governance, budget management, risk mitigation, and successful delivery of SAP projects while ensuring alignment with business objectives and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end SAP implementation, enhancement, migration, and rollout projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and budgets.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Manage project governance, steering committee meetings, and executive reporting.
• Drive issue resolution and escalation management throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with business leaders, process owners, and IT stakeholders to align project objectives.
• Act as the primary point of contact between business teams, implementation partners, and SAP consultants.
• Facilitate workshops and progress review meetings with key stakeholders.
• Establish strong relationships with senior management and project sponsors.

SAP Program & Resource Management

• Manage cross-functional SAP teams including Functional Consultants, Technical Consultants, Architects, Integration Specialists, and external vendors.
• Coordinate project resources across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor team performance and ensure effective collaboration among stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members.

Risk, Budget & Quality Management

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking.
• Monitor project quality and compliance with project governance standards.
• Ensure adherence to organizational methodologies and SAP best practices.

Testing, Cutover & Go-Live Management

• Oversee:
• Integration Testing
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Cutover Planning
• Data Migration Activities
• Go-Live Readiness Assessments
• Hypercare Support
• Ensure a smooth transition from project implementation to support operations.

Change Management & Adoption

• Support organizational change management activities.
• Develop communication plans to ensure stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate end-user training and business readiness initiatives.
• Drive user adoption and realization of business benefits.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years of SAP Project Management experience.
• Proven experience delivering full-cycle SAP implementation projects.
• Strong understanding of SAP project methodologies, governance, and delivery frameworks.
• Experience managing projects involving:
• SAP S/4HANA
• SAP ECC
• SAP SD
• SAP MM
• SAP FICO
• SAP PP
• SAP WM/EWM
• SAP SuccessFactors (advantageous)

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of SAP business processes and enterprise application landscapes.
• Experience managing:
• SAP Implementations
• SAP Rollouts
• SAP Migrations
• SAP Upgrades
• SAP Support Transitions
• Familiarity with SAP Activate Methodology.
• Understanding of integrations with third-party applications and middleware platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-based SAP solutions is an added advantage.

• PMP (Project Management Professional)
