We are seeking a Business Development Manager to grow our customer base and strengthen relationships with existing accounts. In this role, you will win new business through compelling propositions, ethical sales practices, and clear, relevant communication, while ensuring current customers continue to receive excellent service. Your work will directly support business growth, service quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, approach, and secure new customers for freight forwarding and international transportation services.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts to retain business and grow share of wallet.
• Prepare and present tailored service propositions, quotations, and proposals that meet customer requirements.
• Conduct sales activities with integrity, following ethical sales methods and company compliance standards.
• Understand customers’ supply chain and logistics needs, and recommend suitable solutions across air, ocean, and land transport.
• Negotiate rates, terms, and contracts that balance customer value with company profitability.
• Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline, and provide accurate sales forecasts and regular activity reports.
• Coordinate with operations, customer service, and pricing teams to ensure smooth service delivery and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and service performance, and address concerns proactively.
• Keep up to date on market trends, trade developments, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial or sales role, or in international transportation or freight forwarding.
• Solid understanding of freight forwarding services, shipping processes, Incoterms, and customs procedures is an advantage.
• Proven ability to win new business and grow existing accounts.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Customer-focused, with a commitment to service quality and ethical business practices.
• Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customers and priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems is a plus.
