Act as the principal Compliance Partner to Transaction Banking, providing commercially informed and independent second-line advice and challenge across its products and strategic initiatives, including virtual account management and related AML, sanctions and fraud risks. The role also advises IT on technology risk regulation, supports Compliance QA, and collaborates with Risk Management on third-party risk, outsourcing and operational resilience.

Job Responsibilities

Transaction Banking Compliance Advisory

• Act as the trusted Compliance adviser to Transaction Banking business and product, operations and technology teams across cash management, payments, trade finance, liquidity solutions, virtual accounts, digital channels and cross-border services.
• Engage early on new products, material changes and strategic initiatives to provide independent regulatory advice and challenge.
• Independently assess and challenge whether the first line has adequately addressed regulatory, conduct, AML, sanctions and fraud risks, including virtual-account eligibility and structures, underlying-party transparency, identifier misuse, mule or pass-through activity, monitoring, reconciliation and data quality.
• Challenge governance, customer outcomes, cross-border considerations, controls and remediation, and escalate material concerns.

Technology Risk Regulatory Compliance

• Provide independent second-line advice and challenge on technology risk, cyber security, data, AI and incident-reporting requirements from regulatory compliance perspective.
• Support Compliance QA as an independent technology risk subject matter expert while preserving QA independence.
• Monitor regulatory developments, escalate material concerns and report concise insights to senior management and governance committees.

Third-Party Risk Management, Outsourcing & Operational Resilience

• Collaborate with Risk Management to provide independent second-line advice and challenge on third-party risk, outsourcing and related operational resilience requirements.
• Challenge the first line’s assessment and management of material arrangements, including due diligence, contracting, concentration risk, ongoing monitoring, business continuity, critical dependencies, recovery and exit planning.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Risk Management, Finance, Law or a related discipline, with at least 12 years’ relevant experience in financial services.
• Strong experience as a Compliance partner to Transaction Banking or institutional banking, with sound knowledge of virtual accounts and associated regulatory, conduct, AML, sanctions and fraud risks.
• Working expertise in technology risk regulations, third-party risk, outsourcing and operational resilience, including engagement with IT, Risk Management and assurance teams.
• Strong judgement, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex risks into clear regulatory and commercial implications.
