Meet the Team
The Senior Analyst will join the Trading team and support portfolio management, trading, and research across fixed income markets. The role will focus macroeconomic and rates research, quantitative analysis, portfolio monitoring, and the development of scalable trading and research tools.
What You'll Do
- Monitor market, macroeconomic, fiscal, and monetary-policy developments, with particular focus on rates, central-bank policy, auctions, and volatility markets; assess implications for portfolio risk and return profiles.
- Produce timely market commentary, research materials, and internal updates on interest-rate markets, swap and swaption activity, economic data, and relevant market themes.
- Support monitoring of portfolio performance, positions, cash flows, scenario analysis, and compliance with established trading and risk limits.
- Analyse interest-rate exposures, including duration, yield-curve positioning, convexity, volatility, and liquidity risk; assist with hedging and risk-management analysis using rates instruments.
- Support investment and trade analysis and regularly interact with brokers across interest-rate and structured-product markets, primarily JPY rates/vols, with some secondary Asian developed markets rates/vols (e.g., SGD, AUD, KRW).
- Conduct quantitative research to identify rates and volatility signals, market patterns, investor positioning, and relative-value opportunities.
- Develop and maintain research databases, analytical tools, and dashboards to support portfolio monitoring, investment research, trade execution, and risk management.
- Partner with senior developers, portfolio managers, and traders to streamline, automate, and scale trading operations and investment-analysis processes.
- Analyse liquidity, bid-offer dynamics, transaction costs, and market impact to support execution decisions and post-trade review.
- Gather, organise, and analyse market colour and unstructured or incomplete datasets to support time-sensitive investment and trading requests.
- Collaborate with teams across research, economics, and related asset classes to develop consistent market views and identify cross-asset implications.
- Use Python, R, VBA, Bloomberg, and SQL to analyse data and build robust research and workflow solutions; exposure to C++ is beneficial but should not be a core requirement at this stage.

- Proficiency in Python, R, VBA, and Bloomberg, and working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomics, monetary policy, central-bank activity, government-bond auctions, yield curves, interest-rate swaps, swaptions, futures, and options.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proven ability to analyse market data, portfolio exposures, scenarios, returns, cash flows, and risk drivers.
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality written market commentary, research publications, and presentations for internal stakeholders and/or institutional clients.
