Job Summary

Responsible for leading and managing the Medical Records Department, ensuring efficient healthcare information management, medical record confidentiality, regulatory compliance, ICD-10 coding accuracy, statutory reporting, and departmental operations. Oversees staff performance, policy implementation, quality initiatives, and medical records lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Medical Records Department.
• Oversee patient record creation, storage, retrieval, archiving, and digitization processes.
• Ensure compliance with medical records policies, confidentiality requirements, and healthcare regulations.
• Manage medical reports, medical certificates, birth and death notifications, and statutory reporting to MOH and relevant authorities.
• Prepare and submit hospital statistics and management reports.
• Supervise and develop department staff, including performance management and training.
• Ensure accurate ICD-10 coding and EMR documentation.
• Support quality and accreditation initiatives such as MSQH.
• Handle medico-legal records and healthcare information governance.
• Manage departmental resources, equipment, and inventory.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Information & Records Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience.
• Competent in ICD-10 Coding.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with good organizational abilities.
• High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
• Able to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Healthcare information management experience.
• Knowledge of hospital operations, medical records administration, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Experience in quality accreditation and compliance standards.
