Job Summary

We are looking for an organized, meticulous, and reliable Receiving Supervisor / Executive to lead and manage all daily store receiving operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the inbound flow of goods from suppliers and central warehouses. You will ensure accurate quantity verification, quality control, price matching against purchase orders (PO), proper inventory tagging, and seamless handover of fresh and dry goods to retail floor departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inbound Stock Receiving & Verification

· Oversee and supervise the daily unloading and receiving of all incoming stock, fresh produce, dry food and non-food items at the store loading bay.

· Verify incoming deliveries against Purchase Orders (PO), invoices and Delivery Orders (DO) for exact quantities, correct SKUs, pricing and batch specifications.

· Inspect the physical condition, temperature (for cold chain/fresh goods) and expiration dates of received products to ensure strict quality standards before acceptance.

2. Quality Control, Returns, Discrepancies

· Reject damaged, expired, substandard or unauthorised goods on the spot in according to NSK Grocer’s quality guidelines.

· Issue Debit Notes (DN) or Good Return Notes (GRN) for short shipments, damaged stocks or price discrepancies.

3. System Entry & Inventory Management

· Ensure immediate and accurate GRN data entry into the store’s inventory/ERP system on the day of delivery.

· Organise incoming inventory for proper barcoding, price tagging and swift transfers to the store room or sales floor to minimize receiving bay congestion.

· Enforce FIFO (First-In, First Out) / FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) stock rotation principles during receiving and storage.

4. Receiving Bay Safety & Team Supervision

· Supervising receiving assistants and storekeepers, managing shift rosters and daily work delegation.

· Maintain, clean, secure and organise receiving dock operations in compliance with the occupational safety (OSHA) and hygiene standards.

Job Requirements:

Education & Qualifications

· Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related fields.

· Minimum 2 – 4 years of proven experience in store receiving, warehouse operations or inventory control.

· Prior experience in FCMG, Supermarket, Hypermarket or Grocery Retails is highly preferred

Technical Skills

· Proficient in inventory management systems (ERP/WMS/POS receiving modules).

· Hands-on knowledge of barcode scanners, hand jacks and warehouse tools.

· Strong understanding of fresh food temperature controls and food safety guidelines.

Soft Skills & Attributes

· High integrity, trustworthy and details-oriented.

· Good communication and leadership skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (Mandarin/Cantonese fluency is an added advantage to liaise with specific supplier networks).

· Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced retail loading bay environment, including weekends/public holidays on shift basis.
