Founded by Chef-Owner Dave Pynt, Burnt Ends is a modern barbecue restaurant in Singapore’s Dempsey Hill serving modern Australian barbecue and boutique wines and spirits in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. At the heart of this modern barbecue restaurant is an open kitchen concept with a custom four-tonne, dual cavity oven, and four elevation grills. Burnt Ends writes new menus daily and believes that there is magic that comes from cooking with wood.

Job Responsibilities:

• Mix and proof dough for a range of bread products
• Shape and score dough to create artisanal breads
• Operate ovens and baking equipment to achieve perfect crust and crumb
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to develop new recipes and improve existing ones
• Provide excellent customer service and product knowledge
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a bakery or bread-making environment
• Knowledge of bread-making techniques, including fermentation and proofing
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Food safety certification (e.g. WSQ Food Hygiene Certification)
• Comfortable with odd hour shifts (10pm-8am)
• Punctual and well disciplined
• 5 day work week (44hrs per week)

Nice To have:

• Baking certification or diploma

• Experience with sourdough or artisanal bread-making

• Knowledge of local and international bread styles
