About the role

We are seeking a Performance Tester to join HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD on a full-time basis in Kuala Lumpur. This is a critical position within our Testing & Quality Assurance team, focused on ensuring that our software applications meet and exceed performance standards and user expectations. As a Performance Tester, you will play a vital role in identifying performance bottlenecks, optimising system reliability, and delivering high-quality digital solutions to our clients. This position is integral to our commitment to excellence and innovation in application performance.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and execute comprehensive performance testing scripts and test cases using industry-standard tools and methodologies
• Conduct load testing, stress testing, and endurance testing on web applications, databases and infrastructure to identify performance limitations
• Monitor and analyse system performance metrics, response times and resource utilisation during testing activities
• Document performance test results, creating detailed reports with findings, recommendations and proposed optimisations
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot performance issues and validate fixes and improvements
• Identify performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for system optimisation and scalability
• Participate in performance testing planning and strategy development for new projects and releases
• Maintain and update performance testing tools, scripts and frameworks to ensure they remain current and effective
• Support the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline by automating performance tests

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in performance testing or a related quality assurance role
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of performance testing concepts, including load testing, stress testing, spike testing and endurance testing
• Experience with SQL and database performance tuning concepts
• Knowledge of application performance monitoring (APM) tools and methodologies
• Solid understanding of web technologies, HTTP protocols and client-server architecture
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Experience with scripting languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript is advantageous
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and containerisation technologies is preferred
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies is beneficial
