We’re looking for an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex network solutions for enterprise clients. You’ll combine deep technical knowledge with strong client-facing skills, working across teams to take a solution from first design through to stable, supported operation. You’ll also help shape our design standards and build the skills of the wider team.
What you’ll do
- Partner with client to understand their needs and shape WAN, LAN and security solutions around them.
- Join weekly client meetings to report on progress and confirm that delivery stays on track and matches expectations.
- Produce detailed designs covering WAN, LAN, routing and security, and guide their implementation.
- Own delivery from architecture through deployment and testing.
- Take part in internal and customer-facing design review forums to assess feasibility, challenge proposals and validate solutions through testing.
- Support bids and pre-sales activity, making sure our proposals address both initial setup (Day 1) and ongoing operations (Day 2).
- Work with delivery and operations colleagues to resolve design challenges and agree on best practice.
- Help create reusable frameworks, playbooks and processes that make our work more consistent and scalable.
- Make sure every solution is secure, resilient and scalable, and meets the client’s performance and availability targets.
- Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA/RFO) reports and present findings to clients and senior management.
- Join occasional out-of-hours calls to support clients in other regions, and provide on-call cover at weekends and public holidays for critical escalations.
What you’ll bring
- A proven record in network design and delivery, with strong skills in WAN, LAN, routing and security, plus working knowledge of cloud and automation.
- A solid grasp of network security principles, frameworks and best practice.
- Experience managing large, complex network deployments and their ongoing operation.
- Confident presentation skills for both client and executive audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to collaborate across teams and organizations.
- The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on whether a solution is workable and supportable in the long term.
- Experience with both Day 1 delivery and Day 2 operations (highly desirable).
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours when critical situations arise.
