Are you an avid reader who wants to help shape the local publishing landscape?

Epigram Books

is one of Singapore's most ambitious and exciting independent publishers, and this role is your window into the publishing world of Singapore. We are looking for a strong communicator with an infectious enthusiasm for literature, who can see the bigger picture of ASEAN literature. We believe that stories are powerful, which makes the authors who write them just as important, and you will play a key part in bringing their work to more readers.

Marketing and Publicity Duties

Author Support and Events

Prize Coordination:
Coordinate the extensive logistics and successful execution of the

prestigious annual Epigram Books Fiction Prize

Author Management:
Maintain excellent author relationships by managing inquiries, arranging appearances, coordinating book signing sessions, sales conferences to industry partners and supporting authors at book launches and all literary events.

Event Coordination:
Plan, execute, and budget for all book launches and promotional events for new and backlist titles.

Event Hosting:
Emcee book events with a short introduction of authors and help facilitate Q&A where required.

Campaign, Content, and Partnership Management

Campaign Execution:
Plan, budget and execute marketing campaigns, with a focus on social media.

Partnerships:
Identify and execute marketing partnerships and collaborations, including with brands and organisations outside the book industry, to reach a wider audience.

Collateral Production:
Commission, manage, and/or oversee the production of all marketing materials, including video trailers, social media graphics and book information sheets.

Financial Administration:
Budget for and account for all marketing expenses.

Media, Reviewers and Industry Relations

Media Outreach:
Support media outreach where needed. This includes:
  • Pitching stories and authors to media outlets to secure coverage.
  • Maintaining relationships with journalists and media contacts.
Reviewer Relations:
Build relationships with bookstagrammers, BookTokers, book bloggers, BookTubers and other book reviewers, and manage the distribution of review copies and marketing collateral to them.

Stakeholder Relations:
Manage communications and represent the publisher with booksellers, festival managers, and other industry partners.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with charisma and persuasive ability.

A natural communicator (a bit of a yapper, even), who keeps everyone helping out at events clearly in the loop and would rather over-communicate than leave anyone guessing.

Believes in the power of stories and wants to help more readers discover Singapore literature.

, with off-in-lieu hours given for time spent at these events.

Epigram Books was founded in 2011 to publish and champion Singaporean literature. It has since evolved into the non-profit Epigram Literary Foundation, expanding its mission to support not only local authors but also the broader Southeast Asian literary community.

Its catalogue comprises over 500 fiction and non-fiction titles from Singapore and Southeast Asia, including novels, children’s books, graphic novels, cookbooks, memoirs and short story collections. A regular multi-award winner at the annual Singapore Book Awards, the Foundation also runs the annual Epigram Books Fiction Prize, which is open to writers from across Southeast Asia. To encourage regional collaborations and bring more voices to print, it signed publishing agreements with five ASEAN publishers at the 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair. Through these partnerships, the four winning entries of the Epigram Books Fiction Prize will be released across Southeast Asian countries over the next three to five years.
